Dear Friend of Caumsett,
As we look towards 2026, which marks the 50th anniversary of Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve, the members of The Caumsett Foundation’s Board of Directors are sincerely grateful for your unwavering support. Your commitment has been instrumental in our mission to preserve and enhance Caumsett, a true treasure on Long Island's North Shore.
Your donations have enabled us to partner with New York State Parks on several significant projects, and we are ready to undertake even more ambitious projects in the coming year. Our upcoming projects include the completion of the habitat restoration of Butterfly Hill, a crucial erosion mitigation design for the hill behind the Main House including restoring the historic pathway adjacent to the hill. Another important project is the restoration and adaptive reuse of Caumsett’s Dairy and Milking Parlour which will be open to the public and school groups.
Your donation will not only directly fund these initiatives but will also enable us to secure additional funding in the future through matching grants. This strategic leveraging of contributions has proven invaluable in our ongoing efforts to preserve this cherished natural and historical resource for future generations. Every contribution, regardless of size, plays a vital role in our ability to apply for and secure grants, further extending the impact of your generosity.
Annual appeal donations ensure that Caumsett remains a vibrant, accessible, and educational resource for all. We sincerely thank you for your consideration and for being an integral part of the Caumsett Foundation's mission. Your generosity is not just preserving history, it's shaping the future of this remarkable preserve. Together, we can ensure that Caumsett continues to thrive as a jewel of natural beauty and historical significance for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Janet Barone
President, The Caumsett Foundation
